About Us
THE REAL NORTWOODS
Our Story
Rebecca Heiden took over ownership of Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground in late October of 2020 as a single owner. Her goal is to preserve the pristine nature and solitude that one can find at a small resort such as this one. She intends to never make this place the paved parking lot carnival that most RV and campgrounds have become. Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground is about being in the real Northwoods. Staying amongst the beautiful trees, listening to the peaceful birds, smelling the blossoming flowers, watching the animals and yes, enjoying the friendly bugs.
Rebecca's plan is to develop the resort in a way that works with mother nature so that more families can experience and learn from this land in a responsible and respectful way.
2021-Ongoing
Reclamation
This campground has been a destination for families for more than 50 years. Historically, waste and trash management wasn't a provided in-town option, so small businesses took care of these problems as they could. As a result, years of visitor's trash was buried in the back acres of the property. It is our goal to clean up this past rubbish, as best as we can, and return the land back to the pristine landscape it once was.
Ongoing
Continuous Responsible Growth
Growth is important as a business, however, to keep this campground the haven it has come to be known as, correctly managing responsible, ethical, growth is important. In 2021 Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground, LLC negotiated the acquisition of the vacant 30 acres to the East, doubling the size of the resort to over 60 acres of pristine forest land for wildlife and resort guests to enjoy.
2021-22
Playground - Completed 2022
Allocated store sales from 2021 to playground build. Built small cedar playground in spring of 2022.
2021
Erosion Control and Shoreline Protection
We are dedicated to preserving this property for the generations that come after us. One way we manage this preservation is with proactive erosion control. In 2021 a small retaining wall was built to prevent the continuous shoreline erosion in the sandy beach area.

Mental Health
There is a peace and a calm to the Northwoods. It's a place where guests can recenter, reconnect and rebalance their mind and body. We care about your mental health. Listen to the wind in the trees, feel the breeze in your hair, dip your toes into the cool lake water. Forest bathe.
One of our projects is to become advocates for mental health and awareness, we are just beginning our transformation and our journey. We welcome any suggestions or partnerships in this regard.
Ongoing
Wildflower Cultivation
The goal is to propagate more wildflowers through the property, reducing erosion, lawn cutting and chemicals used. Thus increasing more options for pollinators by protecting and contributing to habitat.
2023-24
North Branch - Camping loop
In 2023 we started out campground expansion from 12 overall sites to 24 mixed use sites - available in 2024. We are creating more wooded, private sites allowing guests the opportunity to immerse themselves deeper in nature.
