Our Policies

Check-in

Check-in begins at 3 pm - no early check-in, please.
Please check-in at the camp office upon arrival - BEFORE heading to your site as your site number may have changed.
Office check-in ends at 6pm and 7pm on Fridays.
If arriving after check-in ends, please check-in ONLINE following the link in your confirmation email via the Guest Portal. You must be checked in before setting up in your site.
We still recommend stopping by our office to check the camp map, read notices and pick up the WIFI & password.
Please no entrance after 9pm - be considerate of those already settled in for the night.
If you are traveling with a pet, please read our pet policies before arriving.

Check-out

All campsites and cabins have a check-out time no later than 11am, late checkouts will be charged by the hour.
Please let us know if you need to use the RV dump in advance, we will unlock it for you, dumping must be done by 11am as our staff is allocated elsewhere after checkout ends and will not be able to open the station for you.
If you do not have an open balance, you do not need to check out at the office.

Cancellation

If it becomes necessary to cancel a reservation, please email/text/call us as soon as possible. If a reservation is cancelled more than 90 days prior to the scheduled arrival date, all deposits or monies paid can be refunded. If the reservation is cancelled less than 90 days but more than 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival, a $25 change/cancellation fee will be charged, and the remainder of the deposit or monies paid may be applied to an alternate open date, for the current season only - not refunded. Cancellations less than 30 days prior to the reservation date will not qualify for any of the deposits or monies paid to be applied to an alternate date, nor will it be held as reservation credit. Refunds are not given for early departures, illness, injury, weather or other last minute unforeseen circumstances.

No-shows will be charged 100% of the amount of the reservation, and will not qualify for deposits or monies paid to be applied to alternate dates. Refunds are not given after 90 days, this includes early departures, reduction of stay, illness, injury or inclement weather.

Pets

We love pets & pets are welcome.

CAMPGROUND PET RULES:
Guests are allowed to bring their pets with them to the campground, maximum 2 pets per site.
We ask that you not bring your pet to the sandy beach swimming area.
All pets must be on a non-retractable leash less than 6ft, quiet and under control– at all times.
E-collars are not accepted as a restraint.
Guests MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THIER PET. If pet waste is left behind it will be cleaned up at a charge to your site at $50/pickup. Check your site before and after.
Pets must be over 12 weeks of age and have all their required vaccinations.
We love pets but to ensure everyone’s health, safety and happiness we please ask you to follow the pet policy, if not, we will ask you to leave with no refunds.

CABIN PET RULES:
Small/medium dogs (less than 60lbs) are allowed in the cabins with prior permission and payment of the additional $30 cleaning fee, per pet, per stay. Maximum 2 pets. Dogs in the cabins must never be left alone, must be kept under control and must always be cleaned up after.
Pets must be over 12 weeks of age and have all their required vaccinations.
Unauthorized pets or policy violations will immediately terminate your reservation with no refund.

Campfires & Firewood

DO NOT TRANSPORT FIREWOOD. DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD FROM HOME.

WISCONSIN STATE LAW PROHIBITS THE TRANSPORTATION OF FIREWOOD. Therefore, outside wood is not allowed, it is ILLEGAL to have onsite. You may legally purchase CERTIFIED firewood from the town of Mellen or at our camp store. Do not buy it from roadside vendors, this wood is not certified and may be harboring pests and diseases. Burn it where you buy it.

Our firewood is available 24/7 for $6 bundle.

Campfires are allowed in designated rings only and must be attended at all times by an adult. Do NOT leave fires burning unattended. Unattended fires must be dead out – cold to touch. Fires will be banned if local area is under Fire Danger Conditions.

Please do not cut, chop, deface, destroy, nail or screw to any of our trees or foliage. Any of the aforementioned are considered vandalism and will be treated as such. You may gather down and dead branches for kindling, no larger than your wrist, and nothing from standing trees.

Sites

There is a six person limit to all campsites unless discussed prior with owner. Each site is allowed one vehicle and one trailer. Rustic sites are allowed one car and one tent, unless booked in a double site or group site.
Parking passes must be displayed for additional vehicles.
Additional vehicles must register at the office and obtain a pass for $5/day or $20/season, they must park in the overflow parking area. DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS.

No extra tents in RV sites or single tent sites. A screen tent only over the pic-nic table is ok.

Quiet Hours

QUIET HOURS are observed from 10:00pm to 8:00am. Music & your voice should not be loud or disturb neighboring guests at any time. Failure to observe this may result in immediate eviction without refund.

Please respect other campers, their space and their privacy by NOT walking through their campsites.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages must be kept in moderation and under control. Sale to or allowed consumption of alcohol by minors on premises is forbidden and will result in immediate eviction.

Responsibilities

Recreate at your own risk, insurance on your personal property is your responsibility and recommended. Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground, LLC is not responsible for any damages, man-made or natural, that may occur to your persons or property. You are responsible for your safety. The owners of Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground, LLC will not be responsible for any loss occurring in the park due to theft, fire, property damage or personal injury. Anyone entering the campground does so at their own risk and is aware of the risks associated with recreating outdoors. Please stay aware of weather conditions and take appropriate action. We will make every effort to notify you of emergency situations.

Kids

Children are their parent’s responsibility, up to and including 17 years of age. Children must be aware of the rules and abide by them for their safety. Never leave children unattended at anytime, anywhere on the campground.
Please express extra caution supervising your children on the docks, in the water and on the playground. These are all use at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. All adult members of a specific party are responsible for the conduct and safety of the minor members of their party.

Service

We want to maintain a kind and peaceful atmosphere, anyone who creates a nuisance will be asked to leave without a refund. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRANCE TO ANYONE. We also reserve the right to evict anyone, without notice, who is in violation of the policies on this sheet. Refunds will not be issued, for any reason, but not limited to, weather, early departure, acts of nature, etc. There will be a $50 charge for any returned checks.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in any building. This includes, porches, bathrooms and office. Please be mindful of where the wind is blowing, other campers do not appreciate your second-hand smoke - nor do we.

Trash

Please do not leave garbage in the restroom, your site, fire pit, docks or beach. Please abide by the Leave No Trace. A dumpster and recycling bin is available for your use.
Please sort your recycling, we recycle and compost.
Do not toss cigarette butts on the ground, this is littering.

Vehicles

All RV and campsites are allowed ONE vehicle and ONE tow (ex. camper).  Two bedroom cabins are allowed two vehicles, one bedroom cabins are allowed one vehicle.
All additional vehicles or tows must be arranged in advance and display an active parking permit. Permits are obtained by registering at the camp office and paying a day use/parking fee. Permits may be purchased during office hours (8-11am or 3-6pm).

Extra vehicles must park in the overflow and no vehicle may not park in the grass. 
We want to keep this property safe for all guests therefore unregistered vehicles will be fined and asked to leave.

Speed limit is 5 mph for all motorized vehicles. Please drive carefully and watch for children, people, pets and wildlife! The operation of ATV’s, motorize scooters, remote control cars, etc. are not to be operated during quiet hours. Please be mindful of your personal vehicle and please only run it out of complete necessity after quiet hours. Respect your fellow camper’s right to safety and the enjoyment a quiet peaceful night in nature.

Boats

A boat ramp is available for your use. Guests are welcome to bring their own boat. Boat docking is first come first serve. Reserved dock space for resort owned boats. Please no tandem trailers. No Jet-Skis allowed. Life jackets are required to be worn by all children as per state law.

Dump Station

A Dump Station - Is available for your use during your stay. It is not included with your site fee.
In compliance with local health codes our station is locked 24/7. Dumping must be arranged and paid for in advance. Please be sure to dump before final checkout at 11am. Our staff will be cleaning elsewhere and will not be able to unlock the station for you after 11am. Thank you for understanding.
Our dump station is cleaned and sanitized regularly for your health and safety.

Damage

Vandalism will NOT be tolerated. All repair or replacement costs will be charged to party responsible and/or reported to authorities.
We do understand accidents happen from time to time and we appreciate knowing when things are damaged, so that we can quickly get to correcting the problem.

Emergencies

For emergencies, dial 911 and direct services to 30551 Long Lake Road, Mellen. Otherwise, Ashland is the nearest hospital: 1615 Maple Ln, Ashland, WI 54806. It’s located off Binsfield Road, directly off Highway 13. Please report any injuries or disturbances to our office or call us at 715.681.0852. Please notify us as soon as possible as reporting issues after the fact is not helpful as we then cannot aid in problem solving. We truly want to create an environment where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves – we’re here to help.

Fireworks

Fireworks and firearms are not permitted, regardless of your permits, this is private property and it is not allowed.

Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground takes every precaution to protect our customer’s information. When customers submit sensitive information via website, it is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information, such as a credit card numbers, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry. 

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our user’s information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a reservations specialist) are granted access to personally identifiable information. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customer’s information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure, locked environment. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number and name and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the internet. You will know that your connection becomes secure during the checkout process.
