July 4th 2024

A fun run located in downtown Mellen, WI on July 4th 2023, consists of a 2mile or 5 mile run to raise funds for the local library. Sign up at the link or contact the coordinators. Come and support the runners and have some fun raising money for the library!

Admire over 50,000 blooming daffodils, a vibrant mosaic of roadside lupine & rolling orchards of apple blossoms bursting into rosy color during our month-long celebration of spring. Special events include a Garden Expo at the historic Lakeside Pavilion in downtown Bayfield, Garden Tours and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. Bayfield in Bloom runs from May 7 through June 6, 2021.

Gather on the lawn of the Clam Lake Community Club on the shores of Upper Clam Lake for a Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration. Fireworks at dusk.

August 7th 2024

A holiday in the making, "National" Campfire Day is considered the first Saturday in August. Here at Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground, we would love to recognize this holiday with deals on campfire cookery and discounted crates of wood. Burn long and bright today to honor the tradition of togetherness around the cozy campfire!

July 4, 2024

4th of July Fireworks – July 4,- Fire run at 9:30pm on Historic Main Street. Fireworks display over Chequamegon Bay at approx. 10pm, from the C. Reiss Coal Dock across from the Plaza Park, Post Office/Ashland City Hall. Please social distance along the highway. There is many locations that will give you a great view of the fireworks.

REGISTRATION: 7:30-9:30 a.m. at the public school entrance off Fayette Ave. in Mellen.
RACE ENTRY FEE: Early registration $35.00 until race day July 31, then $40.00 day of race. plaques/medals for 1st 2nd & 3rd place in 5 year increments. An award ceremony will be held at the school following the race.
TIMING: Wisport RJ Ochmann
RACE ROUTE COURSE DESCRIPTION: Approximately 47 miles of paved roads through the Penokee Range, traversing rolling hills and flat terrain. Additional services are pace car, 2 sag wagons, and water station.

Enjoy cruising the gently rolling hills with views of Lake Superior and the surrounding forest and countryside.

Loops of 13, 19, 34, 52, 70, a 40-mile out and back and a century (100-mile) ride!

Fully supported ride with route map, support vehicles, and food/beverage stops en-route and at the finish.

Bay Days WILL take place this year!!
They will be closing 4 blocks on Main Street West from the 200 block to the 500 Block. The event will be ONE DAY, Saturday, July 17th, and here is what is already on the docket; Strongman Competition, Bam Bam, Toddler Run, Big Wheel Races, Baby Crawl, Pie-Eating, 3 on 3 basketball, free Camel & Pony Rides, plus a petting zoo, Amateur Dock Dog Jumping, Music from Acoustic Relapse & Robby Vee, a Car Show, Cardboard Boat Races, Fun Run, Farmer’s Market, and of course… Food & Crafters. We invite you to come for our ONE-DAY festival which is sure to be a huge success!!

The Ashland county fair has been a family tradition for over 100 years. Everyone looks forward to cotton candy or a ride on the tilt-a-whirl, walking through the open class and 4-H Exhibits.
